Steph Curry is widely considered the greatest shooter in NBA history...but was there more to his game than shooting? What was his "gravity" and how valuable was it? Was he really a bad defender? And did his unique combination of impossible skill make him the best offensive player in league history?
This is the 15th episode in a series on the greatest peaks in NBA history (focusing on 1977-2020), featuring detailed scouting reports and film breakdown on the best players in NBA history at their best, along with analysis of their impact using historical data & stats to size up the highest peaking players ever.

  • Man, people dont realize how great this dude is .. Insane player man.. he has it all on offense. And he gives his best in defense. Man, he has it all, midrange, 3s, floaters, offball, drive to the rim, left hand finishes, high glass finishes, passing, dribbling, fakes, hesitation move.. goddamn !!! Goat offensive player IMO.. barring maybe MJ. People say KD, but I disagree.. he is a 7ft monster, but Steph is just more skilled offensively fr

Jordan could attack better than curry and elevate over people to score. Curry is obviously one of the best scorers the nba seen but you CAN stay in front of him and help neutralize him. More so than jordan.

  • Steph Curry taught the league that 10 3-pointers equals 15 2-pointers. It's more fun to watch 3 pointers than 2 pointers, and Steph Curry is the best outside shooter in history. But be careful when you equate shooting with scoring. Kareem's Sky Hook or Wilt's finger roll were less spectacular to watch, but they were both brutally and monotonously effective. Wilt averaged 50 points for a season when there was no 3-point line. Not for a minute am I putting a knock on Steph's game. He stretches defenses with his shooting and indefatigable running without the ball. I know people get frustrated when Kerr pulls him out when he could pad his stats, but if the Warriors are to have any chance in the playoffs, Steph has to be healthy and rested. I think we can all agree that he is one of the most electrifying scorers in history.

    CraveCravePrije 6 dana
    • @Andrew Blackop Nobody said he's a better player lol. You clearly don't understand basketball. He gets trapped because the entire Warriors system is designed on account of Steph's abilities. He's like the head of the snake. KD can have big games and Warriors lose but if Steph gets going, everyone else eats and they usually blow out the opposing teams. Players of opposing teams have said the scouting report was to stop Steph. You watched this whole video and still completely missed the point? You literally saw defenders running towards Steph while giving KD an open lane for a dunk. Isn't it common basketball knowledge to stop the ball? Yet, time and time again, they're ignoring KD while chasing Steph from 25+ ft out lol. KD is the better player but the system was built around Steph and his gravity made it easier for everyone including KD.

      CraveCravePrije 2 sati

Curry is not able to take his team even to the playoffs without the help of some other star. I would only say that he is possibly the best 3 point shooter in history but nothing else beyond that. • The entire series has been remarkably fair, but this is the first one I can't avoid perceiving a bit of extra effort (30 min?) on "data torturing" and creativity on perspective to make him look extra good in offense and not so mediocre on defense. Yes, he is the best shooter and one of the best scorers of all time, but unless you have spent a good time watching him play, you might walk away with the impression he is actually a really good defender. He's not terrible, but he looks way too good in the analysis, particularly when compared to the other players in the series.

Steff should have been humble enough to mention that fact, to acknowledge the magnificence of Wilt. • No one single player has put so much pressure on the defense simply by standing 40 feet away from the rim. His current 2021 season is showing even with triple teams and constant doubles, he's killing it with 11 (& counting) 30+ games, 62 career high, & a month averaging 40+. It's unfortunate both important playoff years of 2015 & 2016 he was injured. When healthy he is the most lethal offensive player ever. He makes his teammates better than other MVPs of the past. As a pure lover of the game, I disliked it when people kept insisting the bulls would have guarded him well. They couldn't even guard Chris Jackson (Abdul-Rauf) in one of their 10 losses to Denver that year, and in 2016, Phil Jackson himself got criticism for saying Curry reminded him of Rauf - because the shooting from those 2 were unguardable. No one goes nuclear like Curry except Thompson every few years. Curry does it every season.
